Pakistan is unable to invest in prevention measures since last year’s floods that killed 1,750 people and is vulnerable to another disaster this monsoon season. About 21 million people were affected by the worst floods in Pakistan since the country was founded in 1947, and tens of thousands of people are still living in emergency camps. In some areas, where fresh flooding has already begun, families have started to dismantle their houses and move to higher ground as they are scared of losing everything again. Crops, roads, schools, electricity lines and bridges were all washed away in a country already suffering from Islamic militant attacks and political instability.
Now again according to our reports, 55 people have died, five hundred thousand acres of land have been affected, sixty five thousand people have been badly affected and have lost their houses, crops and livestock from massive flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains and overflow from the Satlag River. Hope development organization (a NATIONALLY recognized Pakistani NGO) Headquartered in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan has started a one million Pak rupees appeal to provide assistance to survivors who need clean water, food and medical care. "We appeal to the Pakistani Government, International Organizations and individuals to help people with life-saving items like water, dry food, bed sheets, water purification tablets / filters and all that is needed to save peoples lives. Food supplies have been badly affected in flood hit areas Sindh & Badin, Multan, Meer pur Khas Thata. Kabeer wala, Kasoor Pakay wala, Razor pur, Khanawal, Mian chanoo.
These supplies have been hit due to heavy floods that resulted in heavy damage to roads linked to the province that cut the food supplies from other parts of the country
